Week 5: Composition

Task: Use your phone camera, choose a subject and compose it in various shot sizes and camera angles while demonstrating your understanding of visual composition.

Subject - flowers on a table.

Shot 1: Started out with a macro shot to see the insides of the lily.

Shot 2: Tried a wider shot against the backlight so the scene looked sadder.

Shot 3: Wanted to get a more balanced shot here. So the focus is both on the open lily in contrast to the closed ones to capture the life cycle of a lily all at once.

Shot 4: Vertical shot from the side, emphasis on the fact that many lilies are blooming.

Shot 6: Bottom up shot. Also shows that there are many lilies, but because of the faded colour here and the fact that they take up 2/3 of the shot, they look more confrontational here. More like overgrowth than appreciating their beauty and flourishing.
